Sunrise and Lighthouse

Hello everyone,

Many of us woke up at 4:30 this morning to venture on a four mile hike to the point of Lennox Head to watch the beautiful sunrise. Our venture began on the beach from behind our cabin, went through town, and then followed a beautiful path out to the the point. On the path out there we had to climb steps, and thanks to Kerby I can tell you that there were 67 steps. I have to admit there was a general panic between most of us that we were going to miss the sunrise. Needless to say, we booked it up the steps and ramps and made it there over twenty minutes early. The hike was well worth it. The sunrise was beautiful when it finally peeked out from behind the clouds. The sight of the ocean and the sunrise combined in one is something I definitely will never forget.
After we got back to the cabin we got ready for the day in Byron Bay. At Byron Bay we walked out to the lighthouse which is on the easternmost point of land here in Australia. The view was beautiful, you could see for miles everywhere you looked. The sights on the trail back into town was gorgeous, beautiful green trees, and best of all... the ocean. I'm pretty sure we all got some amazing pictures today. We also did some shopping in Lennox Head. We went to Mojo Surf an and bought our surfing souvenirs and pictures. We then spent the rest of the afternoon having lunch and shopping at stores such as gift shops, aboriginal stores, and much, much more.
Hope everyone else had an amazing day too!
Ali
